Jim Wallace Th. M.

SENIOR PASTOR

Pastor Jim Wallace and his wife Jeanie came to Reno in 1987 from Dallas, Texas, where Jim had just received his Master of Theology degree, a four-year post-graduate degree, in Pastoral Ministries. Dallas Theological Seminary is a non-denominational seminary that emphasizes Bible teaching and studying in the original languages of the Bible. Jim found himself interested in the Seminary as a result of having attended the Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton while it was pastored by Chuck Swindoll.

 

Jim is a native Southern Californian whose primary interests are the outdoors, fishing, physical fitness and his family. He was formerly a writer for the Whittier, California, Daily News and editor for Back to the Bible in Nebraska, where he met Jeanie.


Jeanie is a native Nebraskan, a Big Red fan, and also a graduate of Dallas Seminary where she received a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies in 1978. Jeanie loves sewing, quilting and crafts.  She is a retired first grade teacher, and uses those teaching abilities as the head of our Children’s Church and Nursery departments, and teaches Sunday School classes herself at least every other Sunday.

 

Pastor Jim is a cancer survivor as a result of many prayers from all over the nation, having had both an extremely rare form of lymphoma and a relatively rare form of Leukemia.  And though his leukemia still persists, it is not considered life-threatening, and he still preaches most every Sunday in the church.

 

Jeanie and Jim have three wonderful adult daughters, Abby, Annie and Amanda. The Wallace family lives in Spanish Springs, the northern part of Sparks.

Miles Wallace M.Div

ASSOCIATE PASTOR

Miles is passionate about teaching God’s Word and making complex concepts easy to understand. His teaching often includes how the stories we enjoy on screen reflect the grand story that God is inviting us into. 

 

Miles grew up in nearby South Lake Tahoe, and felt a call to ministry while in college on the central coast of California. He fell in love with God's Word during his time with Campus Crusade for Christ and while attending a Calvary Chapel. He pursued a degree in Philosophy to better understand life’s important questions.  Later he attended Gateway Seminary to cultivate his gifts and learn the craft of ministry.

 

It was at seminary that he met Jenni, and they married in 2017. In 2020 they became a family of 3 when their son Emmet was born. In 2024 they happily joined the Risen King Community Church family.

Pastor Jim also serves as an elder at Risen King.

Dave Giannotti

Elder Dave Giannotti was born in San Francisco and has lived in the Reno / Sparks area since 1956.  He’s been married to his wife Jeanie for 40 years.  Dave became a Christian in 1977 and has led various Bible studies as well as being involved in prison ministry for 30 years.  He has served as an elder at RKCC since 2009.  He has two daughters, five grandchildren, and three great grandsons.  In addition to studying the Bible, Dave’s hobby is classic cars, hot rods, and motorcycles that include his modified 1957 Ranchero, Jeanie’s 1968 Mustang GTCS, and a Honda Valkyrie.

WOMEN'S MINISTRY

Donna Doss

IDonna Doss has been a member of RIsen King for more than 30 years. She has a loving servant's heart, and leads groups of women of the church in planning special church events such as church potlucks as well as events that minister to women.

WORSHIP MINISTRY

Karen Moore

Karen Moore has been our worship leader at Risen King for many years, and a member since the church began.

CHILDREN MINISTRY

Jeanie Wallace

Jeanie Wallace is our pastor’s wife and a retired elementary school teacher and former Christian school principal. She has two master's degrees--one in special education from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, and another Master of Arts in BIbilical Studies from Dallas Seminary. She has 25 yuears of experiance as a school teacher and nearly 40 years of expericae teaching Childrens Church. Our Children's Church meets after the worship service and is open to ages 4 through 12. Jeanie supervises the proigram and teachers, and teaches herself at least every other Sunday.

TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY

Steve Yoas

Steve Yoas offers transportation to all church functions via our church van. Steve attempts to help others whenever he’s able, and tries to live every day in a way that pleases God and keeps Him at the forefront.
